ABOUT THE HOBBIT:
The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of ingenuity and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities… A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

ACERCA DE THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
Del director ganador del Premio de la Academia®, Peter Jackson, llega “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”, la primera de una trilogía de películas que adaptan El Hobbit, la imperecedera obra maestra de J.R.R. Tolkien.
Las tres películas cuentan una historia ubicada en la Tierra Media (Middle Earth en el original en inglés) 60 años antes de los sucesos de “The Lord of the Rings”, la misma que Jackson y su equipo cinematográfico trajeron a la pantalla en la trilogía que terminó con “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, película ganadora del Oscar®.
La aventura sigue la travesía del personaje principal, Bilbo Bolsón (Bilbo Baggins en el original en inglés), quien se ve envuelto en una épica misión para recuperar Erebor, el Reino de los Enanos, del temible Dragón Smaug. Abordado repentinamente por el Mago Gandalf el Gris, (Gandalg the Grey en el original) Bilbo se une a un grupo de trece enanos, liderado por el legendario guerrero, Thorin Escudo de roble (Thorin Oakenshield). Su viaje los llevará a zonas salvajes, a través de tierras traicioneras repletas de trasgos, orcos, los letales huargos (goblins, orcs y wargs en el original) y una figura misteriosa y siniestra conocida únicamente como El Nigromante (The Nicromancer en el original)
Aunque su objetivo se encuentra en el Este y en el páramo de la Montaña Solitaria (Solitary Mountain en el original), primero deben escapar de los túneles de los trasgos, en los que Bilbo conoce a Gollum, una criatura que cambiará su vida para siempre.
