Afia Fields has been traveling the one-person show ” I’m Dop3! ” which is a story about her life being a burn-survivor. She´s been in partnership with the Red Cross Organization (Maryland) teaching fire prevention/sharing her story/motivational speaking, traveling to schools, spoken at hospitals , church & colleges.
Fields is a 3rd-degree burn-survivor. In 1993, at the age of 3, she was in a house-fire in Baltimore. She was in a three-month coma, and had over 40 surgeries , 90% hair lost , missing limbs on both hands.
“You won’t forget this play. Afia Field’s a burn survivor, she looks quite unusual, this does not stop her from pursuing her dream, to be an actress. She lives reality through comedy, dance, song & poetry in an intimate theater setting” commented Debra de Liso, the director of ” I’m Dop3! ”
“Not only do I share my tragedy but I show my road to recovery. My story is very inspirational and motivational for all. We all have scars inside or out. There is no perfect person. We all need inspiration and motivation from time to time to keep pushing forward with our lives and I”m Dop3! helps people to realize this,” explained Fields
“I’m hoping to be a example of how to go on with life after tragedy,” concluded Fields.
